Why will my microwave run but no heat food?

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

I have a Sears microwave model 721.66222. It turns on but does not heat. A guest was using it and pushed buttons. That was when the problem started. How can I fix it? It is only a little over a year old.

If it is in a "Child Lock" I added the instructions in an image below.

If the microwave will program and start, and count down and not heat would indicate a component failure. Try opening and shutting the door several times and then see if will heat. It possibly could have a door switch failure.

NOTE: Do not attempt to repair the microwave yourself

! Even if the microwave has been unplugged for days, the capacitor can store a lethal charge of very high voltages.

If it's not in the "Child Lock" feature then the microwave will need to be diagnosed and repaired by a service technician.
