Why is this Amana washer leaking water?

A friend of mine has an Amana washer model number LWA30AW that is leaking from the bottom. It was given to her, but after a few uses, she noticed it was leaking. I took a look around and verified all the hoses were tight and that it was draining properly. It appears that the water is coming from underneath of it, but I didn't have time to take it apart to check it out. So when I do have time and before I get started, I was curious to find out what I should be looking for. Thanks

On this model of washer water leaking from the bottom area usually indicates that the tub seal has failed. If you see water dripping from the center area below the outer tub, I would suspect that the tub seal has failed. This is not the type of repair job you want. This type of repair will require tearing down the complete center area after removing the spin basket. All of the seals & bearings will need to be replaced.
