How can I get sand out of my washer?

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

There was sand left in the washer after removing blankets. I wiped it out and ran washer with a couple of towels but still a ring about an inch wide around the bottom of the tub after final spin.

Open the lid and locate the little opening that the lid strike passes through in order to close the lid switch. Use a non-metallic object to insert and energize the lid switch so it will spin with the lid open. Start the washer in the spin cycle. While the washer is spinning, use a water hose and spray the water all inside the basket and will flush the water and sand out the drain pipe.

NOTE: Do not to put you hands or arms inside the washer while it is spinning
