Why does my Kenmore stove 665.75822001 display a E0-F3 error?

I have an error code E0-F3 and I would like to know if it something that I can repair.

The error E0-F3 error code indicates that your oven sensor has shorted out.

First disconnect power for longer than 30 seconds. Then select Bake and hit Start/Enter and see if this clears the problem.

If the problem reoccurs then you will need to check the oven sensor.

Unplug the range

to disconnect electrical power.

The first image below will give you an idea of where the sensor is located.

The second image provides instructions on how to access the sensor.

The sensor can be checked with a volt/ohm meter. Remove the wires from the sensor and measure resistance across the leads of the component. The resistance across the two terminals should be 1080 ohms at room temperature.

If the resistance is way off, the sensor will need to be replaced. Since you the fault code is indicating a shorted sensor, your resistance will likely be close to zero or very low.

The oven sensor is part number 8273340 and can be ordered from

Hi Fred, I took out the oven sensor and installed a used one but rec'd the same error code. Can anything else be wrong with the stove? I have the same exact model as the guy u answered. Also the part has plastic on the end. Can I test the leads by sticking the two prongs from the volt meter inside the plastic where some of the wire is exposed?
