I need to clean the lint inside of my dryer and inspect the blower motor.

To clean the lint out of your Kenmore dryer model 417.84092500 you will first remove the bottom access panel.

Be sure to unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet.

After unplugging the dryer from the wall outlet you can remove the front access panel. See the image below for how to do this. You don't have to balance the dryer on a 2x4 but it may be helpful to access the screws. Be sure to remove the 2x4 before running the machine.

This will allow you to see the blower housing. You may use a vacuum extension hose to reach back into the dryer to get the lint.

There is also a rear access panel on your dryer that can be removed. It is louvered and has 4 screws that hold it on.

This will allow you to clean the lint out of the dryer.

Excessive amounts of lint can indicate a drum seal failure.
