Why is the normal wash light flashing on my Kenmore model 665.16024400 dishwasher?

The controls aren't responding on my Kenmore model 665.16024400 dishwasher and pushing the heated dry keypad and normal wash keypad repeatedly doesn't start the diagnostic cycle. Turning the power on and off doesn't help either.

A non responsive keypad indicates a failure of the touch pad.

If you have been pushing the heated dry and normal wash keypad trying to enter diagnostic it is possible the keypad is locked out.

See the first image below for instruction on how to get into child lock and how to get out of child lock.

If the unit is not in child lock then the normal keypad may be stuck. The console and keypad overlay come together as one part.

Remove power to the dishwasher before accessing the control.

The 2nd image below shows you how to remove and access the console.

The console can be ordered from

Sears PartsDirect

. With the instructions below you will be able to change it yourself if you feel comfortable doing so.
