Why does my Whirlpool washer make a squealing noise?

The washer is a Whirlpool model LSR7233DZ1 and this problem does not always occur and never lasts more than one wash cycle. The noise is quite loud and drives my wife crazy. It is a squealing noise that happens through the wash, spin and rinse cycle and was wondering if this is caused by lint or something in the pump.

A loud squealing noise is normally associated with the spin bearing but you say the noise happens through out the entire cycle.

The pump is most likely the cause of this problem. The pump is attached to the motor and turns the entire time the motor is running.

You did not ask but the first image below shows how to remove the cabinet and access the pump. You can pull the hoses off and check for obstructions in the pump but the pump itself is not serviceable and is replaced as a complete unit. The 2nd image shows the pump and how it is mounted.

The part number for the pump is 3363394 and is available from the following link:

.

I hope this information is helpful solving your problem but if you have any additional questions then submit another question with additional details.
