How do I fix the round, spring loaded thermometer part on the back of my outdoor wall clock/thermometer?
It is a SPRINGFIELD round brownish gold metal Kokopelli design clock/thermometer combination. It has the usual gold straight hands for the clock and thermometer purposes. The clock runs on a battery and works just fine. The thermometer part has a spring loaded round coil mechanism encased in a black plastic box in back. I have tried to reset the coil up again, but the little spring part that sits outside the black plastic box does not spring back when I replace the cover to the box. It acts like it is not on a spring mechanism at all, and just sits there.

This type of pressure spring thermometer is virtually impossible to fix yourself once it is broken. We do not have any technical data or specifications for this brand of thermometer. You may be able to take it to a clock repair shop to have it fixed by a professional repair technician.
