Why does my Whirlpool refrigerator keep shutting down?

whirlpool SIDE BY SIDE, model #GD5SHAXKQ00 and it shuts down periodically. Everytime it stops cooling, I shut it off and on. It works for a few hours and then it stops again.

There are 2 controls on this model that will shut the unit off completely. The cold control (thermostat) and the defrost control board (ADC board). If you are shutting the unit off and on with the thermostat knob and the unit starts running, the thermostat # 2198202 will need to be replaced.

If you are unplugging, then reconnecting the power cord and the unit runs, the problem will be with the ADC board. By disconnecting the power and reconnecting it, this resets the ADC board # 4388932 and it will need to be replaced. Both of these parts are available at
