I have a craftsman Lawnmower model 917387160. It keeps skipping, is that a bad coil?

I have done a complete tune up cleaned the carb and the fuel system a new filter and a new spark plug I also lightly sanded the rust off the magneto and the ignition coil. but it keeps skipping like it's like the fuel isn't igniting every few turns. could you tell me if this is a bad coil or what it may be.

I would think that you either have a failing coil or some moisture in the fuel. Drain all the gas and empty the carburetor bowl out. Then add some fresh gas. If you still have the problem, I would replace the coil.
