The easiest method to put this board into a defrost is as follows:

Disconnect power to unit for at least 30 seconds

Turn OFF thermostat and leave off

Reconnect power to unit

Within 3 to 8 seconds, the ADC should turn on the defrost heater for 21 minutes or until bi-metal opens. To terminate defrost early, disconnect power, turn control on and reconnect power. On entering test mode, a relay turns off the compressor and turns on the defrost heater. If relay clicks once, check heater. If relay clicks twice, check bi-metal.
