How do I remove the broken operator presence cable from my Craftsman mower?

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

It is a walk behind, rear bag, gas, 21" model 917.388410.

I have the new part, but I've been unable to see just how the old one comes off.

To replace the zone control cable, you have to remove the blower housing from the engine. This is the top cover of the engine and will include the fuel tank.

The flywheel brake and kill switch mount on the block of the engine under the blower housing.
