Why does my riding mower leave uncut grass down the middle even after new blades?

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

The mower has new blades and when mowing, it leaves a strip of uncut grass down the middle. The model number is 917.272681. What do I need to replace or adjust to keep this from happening?

You need to go through the deck leveling procedure for your mower. The instructions are in the owners manual. You can download or print a copy of the owners manual free at [managemylife.com].

Pay particular attention to the front to rear adjustment on the deck. If the deck is level and doesn't have the proper tilt front to back, it will leave strips of grass.
