How do I change lamp Panasonic TV Model pt-43lc14?

My TV screen reads like this, "the lamp needs to be replaced, and the lamp hour meter needs to be reset".

Panasonic included the detailed lamp replacement procedure with the actual lamp.

Here

is the PDF version of that document taken from Panasonic's support site. One thing that is not clear and that can be very frustrating is resetting the lamp message at the start. The instructions say to hit "PIP or SPLIT" while holding “VOL down” on the TV but fails to mention that you have to clear the initial message and not have any OSD up. I still get calls on resetting the lamp message.
