I have a Kenmore 30" electric self clean smooth top range. Can I use Corningware or ceramic cookware on it? Will inappropriate cooking vessels damage the cook top?

Corningware or ceramic cookware is not recommended for use on a ceramic smooth top range. I provided the cookware guidelines from a typical Kenmore smooth top range in the image below. Ceramic or glass cookware may scratch the cook top and is generally not a good conductor of heat. I do not recommend using this type of cookware on your glass cook top. If you do use this type of cookware on the glass top, be sure not to slide the pots or pans across the surface of the cook top to avoid scratching it. Besides scratching the surface, this type of cookware would not harm the cook top.
