Manage My Life

I have a Sears, model 113232211 planer/joiner. I cannot access wedges to loosen in order to adjust the blades. Suggestions?

I must loosen the wedges in order to adjust the blades. I am unable to get a screwdriver under the wedge to pry up. The wedge is very tight. I took the screws out. This is an older Craftsman Contractor Series Planer Joiner made in Taiwan. The model No. is 113 232211. I would appreciate any help on this.

Disconnect the power to the plane/joiner. With a hammer and small punch, tap lightly on the wedges. The vibration from the tapping will cause the wedges to come free. Tap wherever you can without damaging the blades. If you tap the wedges down or sideways doesn't matter. The vibration is what causes them to loosen.
