Why does my gas oven make a boom sound when turning on?

I have a Frigidaire model FJF363MXCCB. The gas makes a boom sound when I turn on the oven. It doesn't happen when I turn on the broiler. I am not sure what is going on. Please advise.

What you are describing is a delayed ignition situation. The oven burner is not lighting correctly. The raw gas accumulates in the bottom of the oven. When the burner does eventually light, it ignites the accumulated gas and there is a small explosion.

I recommend that you discontinue using the bake burner and call a service technician to diagnose and repair the range.
