I have a new Craftsman garage door opener with remote code 139.53753. Can I program my old remote 139.53778 to work with it? How?

I have an older model sears garage door opener mid 70's model. I purchased a new remote with conversion transmitter back in 1994 that works fine part# 53779. Recently I purchased another remote #53778 with dip switches. Whereas the other remote does not. How can I set these dip switches on the new remote to work the opener? Is it even compatible with the older remote? They both look exactly alike with 3 button functions. The newer is slightly larger. It has nine selectable positions. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

No sorry these components are not compatible. All garage door opener companies change their frequencies among other things all the time. These 2 items are all together different. If you want to get a new remote you can go to sears with opener info or sears.com. Knowing the color of the learn button also helps. Thanks BB
