Where is the reset button on this freezer?

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

I have a Kenmore upright freezer model #253.22402100 that won't come back on. We had a home power failure last night and now that the power is back on, our freezer does not work at all. It was given to me by a friend about 1 year ago and she says that it has a reset button but she doesn't remember where it is. Can you help me? It isn't in the manual and we feel sure this is all it needs(to be reset).

There is not a reset button on this freezer. However, to reset it, just unplug it from the wall for about 5 seconds and reconnect it. There is an updated board kit to correct this type of problem. The kit number is 216885800 and is available at

Sears PartsDirect

. A technician will be required to install this kit and there will be a credit involved.
