Core Issue

: Why wont my Kenmore side by side refrigerator, model number 10653534300, cool?

Resolution

: Here are a possible causes for a refrigerator not to cool but freezer is working properly:

Control Setting – Look at the dial. Adjust temperature setting if necessary.

Warm air getting in – If doors are being left open, opened frequently, or if there are poor seals around the door(s). Also food stored in the door of the refrigerator often stays warmer than food in the interior.

Condenser coil is dirty – When the condenser coil is dirty it causes the sealed system to overheat and therefore the refrigerator will not cool properly.

Inadequate clearance: Allow adequate clearance for ease of installation, proper air circulation, and plumbing and electrical connections. Typical clearances are: Sides & Top: 3/8 inch and Back: 1 inch.

Refrigerator placement:

Do Not

install the refrigerator where the temperature will drop below 55°F (13°C) or rise above 110°F (43°C). At these temperature extremes, the compressor will not be able to maintain proper temperatures inside the refrigerator.
