How do you test the thermistor on a Kenmore model 417.94152500 dryer?

I removed the thermistor and I have a volt/ohm meter but I need to know how to test. I'm wondering what reading is good or bad.

The meter would be set to ohms and when checked the thermistor should read approximately 50K (thousand) ohms.

The image below will help with checking the thermistor. Remember to unplug the dryer first before checking any parts.

You can also check continuity across the thermistor. If the circuit is open then replace the thermistor.

The majority of the time when this dryer would run but not heat the thermistor was at fault.

The thermistor is part number 134587700 and can be obtained for approximatel $10 dollars from the following site:

Sears PartsDirect

.

I hope this information helps to resolve this problem but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.
