Why does my My Kenmore dishwasher make a squealing sound when it is running?

We only notice the squealing sounds when the wash cycle is running. Sometimes we do not hear the squealing for the first 10-15 minutes, but then it starts and stays constant until it changes cycles. We do not hear any squealing during the dry cycle. Its model 587.15253402

The squealing noise is likely emitting from the pump motor assembly or the drain motor assembly. If you hear the noise while it's draining water then the drain pump is likely bad. If it makes the noise while it's washing, the pump motor assembly is likely bad. When it's not making the noise, press the Start/Cancel button and it will start a 90 second drain cycle. If it makes the noise when Start/Cancel is pressed, replace the drain pump.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dishwasher.
