How do I replace the transmission on a Craftsman snowblower?

by TOM HARVEY Last activity date:

It is a three speed and was stuck in 2nd gear. I took off the old transmission and ordered a new one. I took it off in may and now it's October and I have forgotten how it goes back together. It's a 24" deck with a 5.5 hp motor.

Go to

searspartsdirect.com

and enter the model of the snow thrower. Select the page showing the transmission and you can see a parts diagram showing the way it mounts.

We don't have a manual with explicit instructions or I would send you information from the manual.

If you start assembling the transmission and need assistance, send another email. Include the model number of the snow thrower and details of what you are trying to do. Reference your questions to the items in the parts diagram. We will try to help.
