It is a model 358.350461, 42cc, Craftsman. It is not firing. How do I check the module?

You need to remove the kill wire from the module and check the magnets in the flywheel.

Remove the screws that hold the cover with the starter assembly in it and remove the cover. Disconnect the wire that is connected to the ignition module. The wire to the spark plug is soldered to the coil, disconnect the wire that is plugged on a terminal. Test the magnets in the flywheel by placing a screwdriver blade or a wrench against them. If the magnets hold the screwdriver or wrench to them, they are good.

Pull the starter rope and test for a spark without the spark plug attached to the wire. If you have no spark, the ignition module is bad.
