Suffer is the wrong word. Your baby might just miss out on some of breastfeeding's benefits. Breastfeeding offers your baby early immunity, and some studies suggest breastfed babies do better educationally as well. For these reasons, it’s a good thing to consider. If you can’t or don’t want to breastfeed for some reason, though, don’t despair. Your baby’s ultimate health and development depend more on how you care for and raise him or her than on whether you choose the breast or bottle.
