Got a Kenmore 70 Series Model 110.20722 washer that made a loud noise and now won't spin?

What can I check when my washer made a loud noise and now won't spin.

The loud noise could be a problem with the bearing or perhaps a suspension spring breaking causing the tub to hit the cabinet.

More detail about what the washer does now would be helpful. If the motor runs and nothing happens then the motor coupler could have broken. The washer might drain but it wouldn't drain or spin.

If you have been hearing a loud squeal or screech the spin bearing has most likely seized up.

The image below contains the instructions to remove the washer cabinet so you can make a visual inspection for the source of this problem. Remember to unplug the washer first.
