What does the F error code mean on my Kenmore Elite Oasis top load washer?

I have a Kenmore Elite Oasis top load washer model 110.27087601. What does the F error code indicate on this washer?

The F51 code is not always caused by a failed control board. I provided a link for a previous answer that provides more information and troubleshooting about that code. I recommend that you review that information and follow the troubleshooting procedures described in that previous answer. If the F51 code is caused by a control board, it would be the main machine control board (part W10189966). Your description in the above response also indicates that you may have an intermittent problem with the user interface control board (part 8564392R). If you get the F51 code problem resolved and still have trouble making cycle selections, then you may need to replace that user interface control board also. Be sure that you UNPLUG the washer before accessing internal component. If you need more help, reply with additional details.

Thanks Lyle! Correct # is 110.27082603. how do you do the diagnostic? step by step. F code is all that comes up. It started off by the start button. you had to push it several times to get it to go to normal and then you turn it to the cycle you want. When you would try to turn it to whitest white it would turn in citcles and land where it wanted to go instead of where u wanted it to go. Now when you put the 8 towel in and it gets to 51 minutes the F shows up. We took out 4 towels and it worked a couple of times but now nor at all. F comes up all the time. It will fill with water and gets to a certain time and F pops up. I can drain the water out but again it gets to a certain time and F pops up.

The brain was replaced 3-4 years ago under warranty. Not under warranty anymore. All I need to now is which brain to replace so I can get it ordered. Sears will not tell me. I am aware there are two. I just need to know which one so I can get my clothes washed:-}

Thank you again for your time and knowledge!

The fault codes for this washer are listed in the image below. You will normally see letters or numbers following the fault code. If you did not see any numbers or letters (or don't remember them), you can use the information below to enter the diagnostic test mode that will display the saved fault codes. This may give you an indication of the problem with the washer.

This information is intended for technicians. If you attempt to repair the washer yourself, be sure that you follow electrical safety guidelines.

Unplug the washer

to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal washer components.

If you need more technical help with repairing the washer, resubmit your question with additional details such as the fault code number and any other symptoms (won't fill, won't drain, won't start, etc.)
