Why won't my Kenmore front load washer go into the jet spin cycle?

I have a Kenmore washer model 417.4410230. It will wash and is draining but clothes are still too wet when the cycle is done. It used to sound like a jet plane but now it just clunks around.

You could have a number of different failures that would prevent the washer from going into the high speed spin. A failed timer, bad motor speed control board, wiring failure or bad drive motor could cause this failure. A technician is needed to diagnose and repair this failure. Live voltage checks need to be performed on the motor speed control board. These live voltage checks are dangerous and should only be performed by a technician. That is why I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair the washer.
