Why is my Maytag washer not spinning?

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

My Maytag washer model number LNC6766A71 does not run in spin cycle. The only noise it makes is when I set it to the end of spin just before rinse. It sounds like the timer is trying to work but its not doing anything. Does this mean I need to replace the timer or is there more to the spin cycle?

On something like this we need to check the voltage coming out of the timer to determine where the problem is. If you do not have 120volts at the timer blue to red when the motor should be running then I suspect the timer needs replaced. Another possibility is a bad lid switch.

Please see the wiring diagram provided.
