Why won’t the primer on my Craftsman snow blower work?

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

The spark plug is working properly, the gasoline is new and clean - the electric start seems to be working - it sounds like the engine is about to start. When I prime you hear air but not the usual sound of the gasoline. It is a model 247.88955 24 inch 2 stage purchased one year ago - I purchased 3 year warranty.

Most likely the problem is the primer. The primer has a hose that runs between the primer bulb and the carburetor. The end of the hose that attaches to the carburetor most likely has come off. You may be able to look under the shield and see the end of the hose. The carburetor has a hose barb that hose will push onto. If you have a warranty I recommend that you have a service technician repair the snow thrower for you.
