Why is my Calypso washer displaying "Ld" and what does it mean?

by Manage My Life Last activity date:

It is a Kenmore top load Calypso model 110.22062102. I get the (Ld) message when the digital counter comes to the seven minute and then it stops working in any type of wash mode. I need help.

The "Ld" error code means Long drain. If it will not drain water "Ld" will display or if it takes too long to pump out water and reset the water level pressure switch "Ld" will display. The most likely cause of the "Ld" is that something is most likely stuck inside the sump area located underneath the tub. The sump canister has two check balls inside. If one or the other check ball can not seat properly it will cause a no pump out or it will drain very slowly. The canister can be checked for objects inside using a bright light to illuminate the canister. Disconnect the power cord from the power source and remove the rear panel to access the sump canister. If you find nothing in the sump canister blocking the two check balls and you find it draining all the water out and it still displays "Ld", the failure is likely the operating pressure switch (opr) located inside the control panel. I also added a link below with some additional information.

How do we tell whether the pump needs to be replaced when we get the LD error code on our Calypso washer?
