Do I need a heat shield for a microwave/convection oven/hood unit?

I am installing a Kenmore microwave/convection oven/hood unit model number 721.88513, unit sandwiched between two cabinets over a stove. Is a heat shield required to keep the cabinets from getting too hot? And if so, where would I buy such a thing?

If the installation manual does not mention a heat shield then you do not need one. I have never heard of a heat shield being used on a microwave/hood installation.
