There are several components that could have possibly made a noise.

The compressor

The condenser fan motor

The evaporator fan motor

The diffuser

The icemaker

This can be narrowed down by determining the area the noise was coming from. By this I mean, if the noise is coming from the bottom of the unit, the freezer section or the refrigerator section. Pay attention to the location and I suggest then having a technician check it. If you just feel more comfortable getting it checked now, that's fine but the chance of finding out what was making the noise is not very good.

If you require further assistance please resubmit question with a

complete model number

and more details. I will be looking forward to helping you again in the near future.
