What causes my Maytag Neptune washer model number MAH8700AWW to vibrate so bad during spin cycle?

I have leveled machine at least 3 or 4 times on tile floor. When the washer goes on spin cycle it starts to vibrate to the point that it moves all over the floor, and very noisy. I have removed the inspection cover and noticed that possibly the dampers might be worn. There are 4 total, would like an answer before I purchase the dampers. Thank you.

Vibration issues are one of, if not the most difficult calls a service tech has to face. It can be extremely hard to track down the exact cause of vibration and it frustrates service techs terribly. I highly recommend calling a service professional to diagnose and repair your appliance.

You did not mention what the sub flooring under your tile is, if it is not concrete, the floor is most likely a major contributor.

Although you indicated that the washer is level, make sure that it is also stable. Push down firmly on the diagonally opposing corners to check for play. Adjust the leveling legs if necessary to eliminate any play.

Make sure that the connections of the washer to the pedestal are tight.

Check the pedestal carefully for any broken welds.

Check the pedestal for loose cinch nuts.

If you have not already installed the riser kit, you may consider installing this kit.

I am including a set of instructions (see images below) that was designed to help “trained” service personnel track down vibration issues. Follow the directions on these pages, and hopefully you will be able to pinpoint where the problem is.

If you require further assistance please resubmit your question with details of the checks you have made. I will be looking forward to helping you again in the near future.
