Why does my well pump not suck and hold pressure?

I have a 1/2 hp Craftsman shallow well jet pump. It's about 2yrs old. I use it at my camp and drain everything before I leave to go home. I have to prime the pump every time I come back. Lately I have had an issue on the pump not sucking from the spring house. All my check valves are ok.

I assume the pipe from the well is staying full of water after you prime the pump.

When a pump doesn't draw water from the well, the impeller inside the pump is either damaged or full of debris.

You will need to remove the pump from the plumbing and separate the pump. The o-ring under the clamp will have to be replaced.

When you remove the front of the pump, you should be able to see what is wrong with the impeller.

If you get the model number of the pump and go to [managemylife.com], you can view or download a copy of the owners manual free. The owners manual gives instructions for repairing the pump.
