I have a Kenmore Model #110674252400 refrigerator/frezzer. The defrost cycle stays on to long some times and then the food begins to mealt. If I hit the bottom of the freezer or slam the freezer door, the freezer will start up again. The circuit board and the defrost thermostat has already been replaced. We continue to have this problem intermittently. The wires have been checked to see if something is loose.
there is no defrost timer on this freezer so the defrost cycle can not manually be adjusted. We have checked everything but continue to have this problem. If i dont bank on the freezer floor or slam the door, the freezer usually turns back on eventrually but some of the food has become soft by that time.
Can you help us?

It's possible the thermostat may be the problem. The contacts can stick in it and by slamming the door or hitting the cabinet can free the contacts. Since the defrost board has been replaced and the exact same problem is still happening, it's unlikely to be the board. A good check of this will be, to turn the thermostat all the way off and back on the next time this occurs or just tap on the thermostat knob. Now another check would be, to unplug the unit and reconnect it. This resets the board. If the unit does not come back on when reconnected the board is not the problem. The thermostat is # 2210491 and is available at
