The bottom two drawers of my Craftsman tool chest will not open. They seem free on the left side but stuck on the right side.

I don't find any model numbers. It is a two piece black set. The bottom has five drawers, the bottom two not working. The lock seems to jam up and I'm not sure it is disengaging all the way. I thought I might take the middle drawer out to see the locking device but can't figure out how to do that.

I am sending you an image showing how to remove the drawers for most Craftsman tool boxes. The model of the toolbox is usually on a tag on the back of the toolbox.

If this information does not help you, look for the model number again and send another email.

Thanks for the reply. I've taken an 18" carpenter's square and slid it along both drawers. It covers all the way to the back. There does not seem to be anything keeping the drawer from opening.

The drawers slide in a channel. there is a small tab that keeps them in the channel. I've tried pressing and twisting but the drawer does not release.

I think possibly the locking mechanism is partly engaged.

extend the good drawer all the way and look at the slides for releases they maybe black plastic levers on a ball bearing drawer or you may have depress metal track on just a slider. also look to see if there is not a tool jamming the drawers. try to slide a metal ruler from side to side to dislodge the tool
