I realize this is an old conversation, but is there any chance the image Lyle W posted could be reposted larger so I can see it better. I'm ready to try to remove the cover but I can't read the directions on the image. Thanks!!

I just got this machine and the same thing happend the very first time I used it. I added water manually thru the dertergent and the water does get pumped out but the machine contines to time out with the e13 code. It is a brand new machine so not sure how the filters could be clogged on day 1.

Any other ideas???

Although you did not provide a model number, based on your description I suspect that you have a Bosch washer that is similar to model WFVC544AUC-19. This answer is based on that model (and 500 Plus Series Bosch washers that are similar to that model).

The error 13 on this type of washer indicates that the pump out expected time was exceeded. This is often caused by excessive suds or a clogged drain pump.

The image below shows how to manually unlock and open the door on this type of washer.

Unplug the washer

and remove the bottom front service panel as shown. Pull the manual release rod to unlock the door.

With the door open, you can remove any clothes and drain the tub with a wet/dry shop vac if necessary. You can use the manual drain hose to remove any residual water as shown at the bottom of the image. You can then remove the drain pump cover to clean out any debris that could be clogging the pump. If you find no debris then excessive suds could have been preventing the washer from draining properly. A failed drain pump or a number of other issues such as a control board failure or a wiring problem could also prevent the washer from draining properly.

Reassemble and test the washer.

If you continue to have problems, submit additional details and the full model number of your Bosch washer.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website:

Hey there Lanette, I can understand your frustration. Until an expert can answer you, what i usually you do is go to the manuals on manage my life and search through there and if that doesnt work then you can also search in the manuals on sears.com. I have provided the link below. I really hope this helps.
