The SE error code indicates that you have a stuck key on the control keypad or a failed electronic control board. A technician will need to diagnose and repair this type of failure. Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. Internal high voltage components can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. A microwave shielding test must be performed on the unit to detect any possible radiation leakage following any internal component repair. These are the reasons that I recommend having a technician service the microwave. Here is a link for the Sears Service website:

Raquel, tried that. There is no mention of 'SE' error. Otherwise, the recommendations are very basic--once the standard things are exhausted (ie, unplug, wait, replug, try again) it says call a repair person.

At any rate, I went through all that a while back and I'm pretty sure I just need to replace the control panel. But before I spend the money on a panel I want to verify: A. its the panel thats broken and B. that I'm getting the right part.

SE error is a standard error. I assume there is a standard fix technicians use.

Anyone out there that can advise???

Hello Henry888,
I can see your having problems with your microwave, and I understand how it can be a little frustrating for it not to be worker. My suggestion for you is to look at your manual threw the troubleshooting page and it may be a little helpful to you. I attached the link below. Hope this helps!!!
