why does my projection TV show shadows and doubles of everything in the colors green, and red/purple

the tv images like words, people, pics, etc. displays with a shadow/double in the colors green, purple and i think red. when i go into the manual convergence screen and try to align all of the crosses manually they will not completely line up. the model number for the tv is "KP-51WS510" the person i got the tv from said they replaced a part on it once before. the part was IC8001. i want to make sure i have an idea of whats causing the problem before i purchase parts.

You are on the right track. The convergence circuit has two amps, one or both could be bad. You are looking at swapping at most two of those amps, the IC8001, and a few fuses that may have opened when the circuit failed. The response linked was to one of my answers. I would still recommend having a technician performing this job and checking all the fuses.

I always reach for the owner's manual and check the troubleshooting steps there first. I found the manual for your TV and attached the link below. I also see that someone else asked a similar question. Here is what the expert posted. Hope this helps!
