I have Craftsman DYS 4500 tractor. The original transmission is a tuff torq k46 and is broken. Will a hydrogear 171613 fit my tractor?

The tuff torq k46 transmission in my tractor is not working. I even changed out the fluid in this 'unserviceable' transmission several times. I found a used hydrogear 171613 from another unidentified Sears mower. I am looking to see if it will fit my DYS 4500. Please advise.

The mounting of the transaxles are most likely going to be the same. I do not know if the pulley size is the same and if the shift linkage is the same. There are so many variables I could not give you an honest answer if it is possible. Legally we could not modify a product so we never even tried to change one manufactures transaxle to another. I wish I could have been more help but it is not something I have done.

Hello,
It sounds like you can do the work if it will fit and do not want to get a replacement tuff torq. The expert will need to respond to this question. If you do decide to order a replacement part or wish to have an expert technician make repairs for you, an option is to visit SearsHomeServices and use the scheduler.
