Kenmore 70 series gas dryer model #110.72722101 runs but doesn't heat, do I need to light a pilot light? If so how do I do that?

Have gas line hooked up and gas turned on
Have the dryer vented and have checked for built up lint
Tried to dry a load of clothes and there is no heat

This dryer doesn't have a pilot light. It uses instead an ignitor that glows bright and ignites the gas.

When a gas dryer runs but doesn't heat the most common reason is an open thermal fuse.

The thermal fuse is located on the blower housing. The image below will help you with this.

Remember to unplug the dryer first.

This part can be checked with a volt/ohm meter for continuity. It can also be checked if you have no meter or no meter skills.

The idea is with the dryer unplugged remove the two wires from the thermal fuse and join them with a small piece of insulated wire. With the fuse bypassed you can carefully plug the dryer in and see if it will heat. If it does then replace the 3392519 thermal fuse right away.
