The 5E (or SE) error code indicates that the control board detects a shorted key on the control panel. A technician will need to replace the control keypad or the control board. I do not recommend that you attempt to repair this microwave failure yourself. Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. Internal high voltage components in the microwave can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the unit is completely unplugged. A microwave radiation shielding test must be conducted on the microwave following any internal component repair. These are the reasons why I recommend calling a service technician to repair this failure. Here is a link for the Sears Service website:

Sears Home Services

. If the microwave is still under warranty, you can call Sears for service at 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

Error codes can be confusing. I usually find help in the owner's manual. I attached the link to your microwave below. This may help while you wait for the expert answer.
