The 5E (or SE) error code indicates that the control board detects a shorted key on the control panel. A technician will need to replace the control keypad or the control board. I do not recommend that you attempt to repair this microwave failure yourself. Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. Internal high voltage components in the microwave can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the unit is completely unplugged. A microwave radiation shielding test must be conducted on the microwave following any internal component repair.
