water got into my lawn mower gas tank. Can I pour in a product called heet which is designed to remove water, how long should I run the engine after adding it

Craftsman 917.388420 21" multi cut;;; water got into the gas tank and possibly too much oil; lawn mover will not stay on and blowing out white smoke. Bought a product called heet which is designed to remove water in the tank; Can I pour this into the gas tank; if there is too much oil what will happen? do I run the lawn mower and for how long? what do I do about the white smoke?

I don't think HEET is going to do much for your situation because the engine doesn't get hot enough to pass it through.

Your best bet is to empty the fuel tank out then remove the carb bowl and clean it out good. That should get you back going.
