I took the lower deck off my craftsman riding mower model 917271011 and now need help to put it back together. It consists of pulleys a belt and cotter pins.*-

model 917271011 craftsman EZ3 mulching riding lawn mower. I need some sort of a manual or diagram so I can put the lower deck back on my mower. I removed the lower deck because a weld had broke and I needed to put a new belt on. Even though it doesn't look very hard to reassemble I am unable to figure it out. Do you know where I can get a manual or diagram the "walks me through" the reassembly??

We have all been where you are now. While you wait for the expert answer, you can check the owner's manual if you like. I attached below. I see it has some pretty good diagrams. Hope this helps!

I have attached a drawing with notes on it so you can see where the deck connects up at. There isn’t really a manual or anything to go by for connecting the deck back up. The photo depicts the parts on the deck and notes where the tractor connection is. I will recap it just in case my notes aren’t clear on the drawing.

On the front of the deck there are 2 big tabs with some round and square holes. Use the round ones to connect up the 2 linkages that are under the front axle of the tractor to connect that up.

On each side of the deck there is a sideways “U” part welded to the deck. That will connect to hangers that come down on each side under the footrest area. They are what actually move when you raise/lower your deck.

On the back of the deck in the center there will be a flat linkage that goes to the left side of the deck. That will connect up to a bracket that is under the back of the left footrest where it meets up with the rear fender.

There is a small linkage in the center of the deck. When you have the rest of the linkages connected you will push that one up and you should see a tab with a hole in it for that linkage to connect to. It is the PTO lever assembly.

Lastly, connect the belt to the engine pulley.
