Why won't my refrigerator or freezer turn on after a power outage?

Kenmore refrigerator, top freezer. Neither the freezer or refrigerator work after the power went out. I know the socket works. Power went out at my house, now refrigerator won't work. It just clicks. I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, no luck. Any ideas?

Sometimes a power outage can take out electronic controls on a refrigerator. If you hearing a clicking sound, that would indicate the compressor is trying to start but can't. A technician will be required for service and will have the proper equipment to make these checks.
