The rear door on my 2006 Chev. Trailblazer won't stay up when I open it. What's wrong?

On my 2006 Chev. Trailblazer EXT, I can open the door at the back end of the vechile but it won't stay up.
What could be wrong?

The rear door of your trailblazer has two gas filled struts that holds the door open. These struts fail and will not hold the door up. The struts are easy to replace and can be purchased from any local auto store. Most auto stores should be able to replace the struts for you or can give you the instructions. The strut will either have a metal spring clip that is released using a small screwdriver or have a nut that holds them in. have someone hold the read door while you remove and install the strut. I have added an image below showing what the strut look like. I hope this is helpful.
