How to repair a digital camera, GE BK X5 with a Lens Obstruction?
I just bought a brand new digital camera GE BK X5. I put the batteries in, turned it on and the zoom went to its maximum and didn't get back. A red light in the back side is blinking and a sound is coming from inside and finally, the camera is turning off automatically. It shows in the LCD: " Lens obstruction, Re-start the camera".

New electronics can take awhile to figure out. I keep my owner's manual handy for some time until I get used to the camera functions. If a manual did not come with the camera and you purchased it new, you may want to contact the store and see if you can get one. It should define this error. I did find some general information on a web site that I included. Hope this helps while you wait for the expert answer.
From past experience this usually is an internal problem. It can be a misalignment or simply dirt that causes the motor from moving the lens. I could not find any forums directly discussing this model. I would contact GE and let them know of the problem and see if they offer and solutions.
