We have a Kenmore bottom freezer, model #795.7 130*, it is less than 2 years old. The freezer fan kicks on with a very loud noise. It’s only been doing it for the last month or so. It had an ice buildup before in the back of the freezer, we cleaned that by using a hair dryer, the noise seemed better for a couple of days, but then the noise comes back again.

Thanks for the model number.

First; disconnect power to the refrigerator & remove everything in the freezer including the icemaker & shelf. Now you can remove the freezer rear panel to access the freezer fan motor. Please see the image provided in the attachment below.

Without a model number it's hard to tell, but most freezer fan motors are easy to replace. SXS models are a little more difficult because the lack of elbow space. Top mounts allow more room & bottom mounts too but requires kneeling down a lot. Please reply with a model number for further assistance.

Noises from refrigerator and freezer can raise concerns. I found a similar post from a previous question that may help determine what is going on with the fan noise. A suggestion I have to help the expert provide a better answer as to self repair or tech repair would be to add the model number to this thread. Hope this helps!
