Is a light kit available for a Craftsman model no.247.886911 26"snow thrower just purchased at Sears?

The store display model has a connector that the salesperson said is for an optional add on headlight. Mine does not have this connector. Is it still possible to add an auxiliary light?

I agree. It's very frustrating to get something and it not be exactly what you thought it would be. If you've had the machine less than 90 days you can still contact the store and see about swapping it out for one that does have the ability to have a light on it. This situation with this particular model seems to have just suddenly shown up overnight. You are not the only one in a similar situation. I apologize the confusion with this. If we can do anything else please let me know.

Thanks for the assistance and quick response. Used my single stage for 20yrs. with out a headlight, so it's not a necessity. Noticed the similar Toro model is set up the same way. Would be nice though if you actually got what they advertise when you pull it out of the box.

Your model does not have an alternator to be able to run a headlight on it. The display model was likely a very similar model number if it had the harness/plug on it.

Because of the way the engine on your model is set up, there isn't even a way to add the alternator to it.

I wish I had better news for you, but I'm afraid I don't.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

I can see why a headlight would be a great addition for the snow blower. I would check the owner's manual for your model to see if it is compatible. Also you can check the parts list at Sears Parts Direct to see if it is listed. I attached the links below. It may help while you wait for the expert answer.
